It was January 4th and Tom Brady was playing what would be his final game in a New England patriots uniform. Although the Patriots lost in heart-breaking fashion, the evening was marked by the introduction of Emily and Chris by mutual friends.
At the end of the night, Chris worked up the courage to ask Emily for her number and gave her a firm handshake as they parted ways. Chris began his courtship and went so far as to invite himself to her birthday party, which turned out to be the best birthday gift she would receive.
They went on their first date to a Celtics game and continued to see each other for a few months. Then suddenly, the pandemic happened. From there, they started to see a lot more of one another.
Over the course of the next year, Emily and Chris shared countless memories including a trip to San Francisco to visit her brother Dan’s family, hiking throughout the Northeast, countless home cooked meals, game nights, beach days, afternoons in the park, walking food and drink tours throughout Boston, late night Blue Bike rides, concerts, and dance parties at “Dave’s Lounge”. Despite the hardships that came with the pandemic, roommates and friends became family and a cornerstone of their relationship.
After about a year of dating, Chris was accepted to medical school in Worcester and Emily [coincidentally] completed an arduous house hunting search. She settled on a beautiful property that would become their first home, and the place where they would first decide to spend their lives together.
Many joyful years have passed since that time. Countless hours have been spent making their house into a home. Chris and Emily have continued to travel throughout the US, Germany, Spain, Italy, Tenerife, and the Caribbean together. Emily continues to excel in her professional career as she supports their aspirations and Chris as he continues school. They adopted their first two fur babies - Obi and Fez. The best years are yet to come, surrounded by friends and family, present and future.
